Why Are Celebs Ditching Instagram for BeReal?

Why Are Celebs Ditching Instagram for BeReal?

Let’s be honest — we all love a perfectly curated Instagram grid. The golden-hour selfies, the matcha latte shots, the mirror pics that took 67 tries... But lately, something weird (and kind of refreshing?) is happening. More and more celebs are hopping onto BeReal — and honestly, we’re here for it.

You’ve probably seen it already: that one photo of a mega-famous actress in her sweats, eating cereal at 3PM. No makeup. Bad lighting. Zero filter. And yet... it goes viral.

So, like, what’s going on?

Turns out, even celebrities are kinda tired of the pressure to be perfect 24/7. BeReal — the app that sends you one random notification a day to snap a real-time pic — is basically a digital sigh of relief. You don’t get to plan, pose, or Facetune. You just exist, and you post it. Simple.

Take someone like Florence Pugh. One minute she’s slaying the red carpet, the next she’s on BeReal in a hoodie making tea. Fans love it. Why? Because it makes her feel like a real human — not just a flawless image in your feed.

It’s not just actors, either. Some fashion influencers, musicians, and even reality stars are experimenting with BeReal as a way to connect more authentically. It’s casual, low-effort, and kinda chaotic… in the best way possible.

Of course, the irony is — even these “real” moments are becoming part of the online persona game. Like, if everyone sees you being “raw and real,” isn’t that... also curated?

Still, for now, we’re enjoying this shift. It feels good to see our faves being a little messy, a little goofy, and a little more like us.

So, what do you think?
