What Is the Right Answer to Life?
Compartir
We often find ourselves wondering:
“How should I live my life?”
“What does it mean to live ‘right’?”
And when those questions dig deeper,
we sometimes end up asking, “Am I living a pathetic or meaningless life because I haven’t figured it out yet?”
Whenever I felt lost, I turned to people I trusted.
They all offered answers—based on their own values and experiences.
But strangely enough, each answer only seemed to leave me more confused.
At times, I couldn’t help but wonder:
Are these really their answers?
Or are they simply choosing the version of life that sounds right—the one they’ve heard from someone else and decided to hold onto?
Maybe it’s not even how they actually live, but rather, how they wish they could live.
I searched through books, quotes, speeches, and interviews with renowned people.
Some words struck a chord.
But eventually, as my situation shifted or I grew a little older,
those once-“perfect” answers began to feel not quite right anymore.
Then, a quiet thought slowly surfaced from deep within me:
“If you keep failing to find the answer, maybe the question itself is flawed.”
And that one line hit me harder than I expected.
What is the right answer to life?
How should we live to make it count?
Is there such a thing as a failed life?
Maybe the problem isn’t that we can’t find the answer—
maybe we’re asking the wrong question.
Perhaps there is no universal truth, no single definition of a “right” life.
Maybe the answer is something we define for ourselves.
What do I enjoy?
When and where do I feel most at peace?
Who makes me feel like I can just be… me?
As I slowly begin to answer these little personal questions,
I find myself outlining what my version of a meaningful life looks like.
And maybe, without even realizing it,
we’re already on our way toward the “right answer” we chose for ourselves.
So lately, I’ve been trying to stop chasing someone else’s truth.
Instead, I’m turning inward—
to the quiet, ordinary moments that bring me joy and calm.
And I’m listening more closely to what I really need.
What about you?
